Meet our Practitioners

The M-Care Medical Center, which was established in 2009, has 5 full-time physicians. This means that there will always be a doctor available to assist you. The Medical Center is located on the corner of Rissik (72) and Malherbe str. on the Bult. We are well located with access roads and walking distance for most Bult residents. There is ample cool parking with street cameras as part of the security.

With the 5 doctors (male and female) whose ages vary from younger to older, all patients are welcome to visit us.

Furthermore, the M-Care Medical Center also has an independent Medicine Pharmacy as well as permanent Psychologists. So, you can get prescribed medicine right after walking out of the consultation room, easy!

As a further addition, there is also a unique Paramedical Skin Clinic with a skin technician and Doctors who do Aesthetic skin treatments.

In short a dedicated well-equipped Medical team to look after most patients’ needs.

Dr Maré Botha

General Practitioner

Dr. Botha is the founder and owner of M-Care Medical Centre. He has been practicing in Potchefstroom since January 1985 as a General Practitioner. That makes a total of 36 years of service in Potch!

In 1988 he completed his further postgraduate studies in Family Medicine. Dr. Botha has a special interest in the prevention and early detection of heart, lung, and metabolic diseases as well as skin diseases.

He is also part of the Multidisciplinary rehabilitation team in the M-Care Hospital in Potchefstroom where various geriatric, medical, and physical conditions are treated.

Dr Rita Oosthuizen

General Practitioner

 Dr. Rita Oosthuizen grew up and matriculated in Fochville. She studied at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein and has been in general private practice since 1992. In 2008 she went into private practice in Potchefstroom.

Dr. Oosthuizen did numerous courses in anti-aging and Integrative medicine. She has a special interest in women’s health, menopause, chronic fatigue, bio-identical hormones, and skin conditions.

She also has a special interest in aesthetics, with more than 10 years of experience. Aesthetic treatments include anti-wrinkle treatments, fillers, PDO threads, PRP treatments (Vampire Facial), sclerotherapy and aesthetic corrector plasma pen treatments for face and neck, soft facelift, eyelid lift, loose skin arms, neck and abdomen, removal of skin tags, warts, moles, pigmentation and sunspots.

Dr June Jansen van Vuuren

General Practitioner

 Dr. June Jansen van Vuuren grew up on a farm in Limpopo. She was the dux learner of her matric year group in Hoërskool Ellisras.

She completed her MBChB at the University of Pretoria in 2015 with 5 distinctions. She moved to Kimberley for her Internship and then remained there for the duration of her Community service. During this time she gained valuable experience in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department followed by the Orthopaedics department.

Dr. June has an interest in general practice and women’s health. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and going on adventures with her husband Jacques.

Frans du Toit

Clinical Psychologist

Frans completed his undergraduate degree (majoring in Psychology) as well as his Honours Degree in Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology Degree at the North-West University. He completed his internship at Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital, followed by a community service year. Frans started private practice at Life Groenkloof Hospital (Little Company of Mary) in Pretoria, while lecturing part time at the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) in Rosebank. He also respectively consulted at Denmar Psychiatric Hospital, Akeso Arcadia Clinic and Netcare Unitas Hospital (Emergency Room). He was based at Midstream Mediclinic and associated with Evexia Psychiatric Day Clinic where he conducted family psychotherapy, and assisted with divorce mediation and the drafting of parenting plans.

Frans, along with his wife Mandie and their two boys, recently relocated from Gauteng to Potchefstroom. He devotes his time to inpatient care at Witrand Psychiatric Hospital, and recently joined our team offering after-hour services, mostly individual psychotherapy, from 16h30 on certain weekdays and on Saturday mornings. Frans has a special interest and passion when it comes to interactional- and systemic psychotherapies and works primarily from an Integrative Interactional Approach (Applied Systems Theory). This enables him to also maintain a strong focus on couple’s- and family therapy.

Dr Suzanne Mulder

General Practitioner

Dr. Suzanne Mulder was born in Potchefstroom. She matriculated in 1996 at the Hoërskool Gimnasium with 7 distinctions.

After school, she began her medical studies at the University of the Free State where she studied medicine and music degrees simultaneously in her first year. She however decided in her second year to only pursue medicine.

During her student days, she was, among other things, primaria of her residence (Huis Wag-‘n Bietjie); SRC member for Academics, and she was appointed DUX student of the University of the Free State in 2001. Dr. Mulder also obtained Free State colours in cross country and represented the University of the Free State at the SA student cross country championships for 4 years.

She obtained the degree MB.ChB in 2002 and won the anaesthesia medal as the best student in anaesthesia in her final year. After completing her internship and community service years, she went to work in London in the United Kingdom in 2005. During this time she worked for three years as a medical doctor in one of London’s largest psychiatric hospitals, but returned to GP practice in 2008 and then worked for Roodlane Medical as a general practitioner and occupational health consultant in London. In 2013 she completed her Occupational Health Diploma through the Royal Society of Public Health in London and returned to South Africa after 9 years in the UK.

Suzanne currently works part-time as a GP at M-Care Medical Center. She is the mother of 4 children – two sons and 2-year-old twin daughters. Her interests include psychiatry, paediatrics, and women’s health. In her free time, she still loves music, action netball, snow skiing, and jogging and when she gets a chance she still likes to travel to any interesting or new destination with her husband and children.

Dr Terso Combrinck

General Practitioner

 Dr Terso Combrinck grew up in Vereeniging where he matriculated from Overvaal High School. He completed his MBChB degree at Bloemfontein’s University of the Free State.

Dr. Terso worked in Rob Ferreira Hospital in Nelspruit Mpumalanga, as well as in Parys District Hospital in the Free State.  During this time he developed a keen interest in HIV medicine and Emergency Medicine. He has Advanced Life support certificates in medical, trauma, pediatric and cardiac disciplines. Terso also works as an emergency care doctor in Medi Clinic Potchefstroom.

He enjoys doing surgical procedures and also assists an orthopedic surgeon in theatre.

Dr. Terso is married to Wilna and they have two dogs.  When not in the rooms or the ER, he can be found riding his motorcycle, hiking, hunting, camping, or shooting a rifle.

Corné Brink

Clinical Psychologist

 Corné Brink is a registered clinical psychologist with more than 16 years of experience. She completed a B.Mus. degree in 1992 at the former Potchefstroom University, and was a music teacher for four years. Thereafter she pursued a career as a psychologist, completing an Honours Degree in Psychology in 2001 and a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology in 2003, both at the North-West University. She completed her internship in 2003 and community service in 2004 at Witrand Hospital. She started a private practice in 2005 and is currently consulting at M-Care Medical Centre, as well as Multicare Hospital (in-patient Psychotherapy) in Potchefstroom. Recently, video call consultation has also become available when needed.

Corné consults with persons from all age groups, including teens, students, and adults. She also has a special interest in children from 6 years of age with ADD and adjustment disorders, as well as parental guidance. She offers professional psychotherapy and counseling for personal growth in matters related to a variety of psychological challenges and problems, ranging from coping with circumstances in life or at work, trauma, anxiety and panic, depression. She also has a passion for couples’ therapy.

Corné raised three children with her husband in Potchefstroom. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Susan Botha

Skin Technician

Susan Botha is a certified Paramedical Skin Technician at M-Care Medical Centre. Since 2008 she works at Beautify – a paramedical skin revision clinic.

Her areas of speciality include DMK Enzymes Therapy, Basic Treatments, Professional Treatments, Lifting and Toning Treatments, and Transdermal Nutrition Treatments.

She can assist patients with NeoStrata Chemical Peels and the application of a wide variety of NeoStrata Products such as Dermal Replenishment, Matrix Support, and Bionic Face Cream.
